Beschreibung

This workshop covers advanced figures that go beyond the basic waltz timing, while keeping the characteristic elegant and flying feeling of the slow waltz. These are the kinds of figures that you can find in choreographies of advanced ballroom couples, but which also work well in advanced social dancing.

In particular, you will learn a combination including (amongst others) a left whisk and a standing spin. This combination features a sudden change of direction leading into a strong rotation with some room for improvisation at the end.

Prerequisite: Approx 1.5 years of dancing experience, i.e., Ballroom 6 or some experience from Ballroom Trainings or equivalent. The figures will be challenging in terms of timing and will require a good frame and good balance.

Great workshop to learn new figures as well as improve your basics. Chris and Lukas are both very knowledgeable about Standard dances and provided very helpful inputs as well as 1:1 feedback.

Der Kurs hatte ein Interessantes Thema, super um das Tanzen abwechslungsreicher zu gestalten. Chris und Lukas unterrichten anschaulich, und erklären präzise aber verständlich, was sie machen. Ich komme gerne wieder in einen Kurs von den beiden.

This course helped me to finally bring my Paso Doble to the next level. Thanks to it I managed to get away from boring in-place steps and towards a dynamic movement through the room. Already looking forward to the next time I get to dance Paso Doble :D

Great course. Build up the choreo bit-by-bit, making it easy to follow. Well-paced progression from dry practice to dancing through the entire combination learnt so far.

As always, Chris presents interesting material that fits well to the groups abilities. It’s awesome to have this kind of advanced courses, which (together with the technique trainings on Fridays) create this group of dancers who want to improve together.

The Quickstep course was super fun, we learned a good amount of figures and had time to practice them. We also learned a bit about the 'character' of the dance.

Chris hat ein grosses Theoriewissen und streut es in guten Maße in seine Kurse ein. Nicht zu viel, nicht zu wenig, gerade genug dass es interessant ist, man nicht nur die Schritte lernt, sondern auch lernt wie sie zusammen spielen sollen, und was sich auf andere Tänze übertragen lässt.

The dance course strikes the perfect balance between reviewing figures, improving technique and focusing on the variety that ballroom dancing has to offer. I greatly enjoyed every session of the course & look forward to the next course! Chris is an excellent teacher!

This is a fantastic course, I have learned so much, particularly how figures can be combined, when they can be danced, and how to dance them well. I also really enjoyed the explanations of concepts like swing and different energies of the steps within figures. Chris brings so much positive energy and happiness to his classes, which makes it even more enjoyable to learn and improve. There was also lots of individual feedback and input from the class.

Amazing teachers :) they explained everything very well and in a fun way and we learned lots of great figures that complement the Social/Ballroom program.
