Beschreibung

We refine our body movements to dance confidently in freestyle Salsa Cubana. We focus on isolation, musical understanding, and movement technique while exploring other Cuban dances. Please come dressed in sportswear and bring water to drink. For this course, Followers & Leaders are not matched. We practice the movements in solo-dancing

About this course

Each lesson we will take an in-depth look at one topic and practice it using short step combinations.

Recommended Level

This course is recommended for people with at about one year of Salsa dancing experience. If you learned dancing at Tanzquotient, this would mean that you've already completed Levels 1 - 4.

Leonor teaches great classes and has a lot of knowledge and passion for cuban salsa which shows in all of the courses and this class specifically about musicality was great to support us when we dance to the music!

The body movement workshop was very interesting. In the normal courses we usually practice isolations during the warm up: only hips, only chest, only shoulders. It was surprisingly hard combining all those elements together! Leonor gave a lot of helpful individual feedback. I liked the course a lot and hope I can retain what I learned and apply it for the salsa basic step. My personal highlight were the skirts Leonor brought for the training! I was a bit overwhelmed trying to move everything at the same time, but the skirts were fun and I think they helped a bit to get into the right spirit and mindset.

I absolutely loved this reggaeton class! Leonor is an incredible teacher—she clearly knows her stuff, especially with her deep knowledge of Afro-Cuban dance. She broke down the movements in a super fun and approachable way, starting with the basics and then layering on complexity step by step. Her instructions were really clear and easy to follow, which made it so enjoyable. I’d totally recommend this course to anyone looking to dive into reggaeton with a skilled and passionate instructor!

Leonor clearly has a lot of experience with Salsa. The best part is that she does an amazing job passing on her knowledge and experience while also making the lesson fun and engaging.

Anaiise and Kai make one the most memorable classes I had in TQ, it's a lot of fun, great physical activity, figures I feel proud about doing, and want to use to show off. Some felt like rock'n'roll. They teach some very unique figures, and the ability to educate people so fast is impressive. I do highly recommend this class to everyone intersted in social dance as a life experience.

Kai and Ana are wonderful teachers. They introduced some really interesting figures in class and explained them clearly so everyone could follow along. They’re very talented dancers, and it’s always fun to watch them. Ana is so graceful! It’s so nice that they organize these extra courses!

Great one-time salsa course! It was super fun to learn lifts in a safe and supportive environment. The teachers gave clear guidance and made sure everyone felt confident. Highly recommended!

Anaise and Kai were great teachers, they explained everything really well and took their time to go around and help everyone with the lifts. I also really appreciated that they showed different options for the figures to make sure everyone was feeling comfortable.

Anaïse and Kai did an amazing job leading the „Lifts and Dips“ training. Initially the figure seemed very advanced but they prepared us well and showed full confidence and expertise in how to do it safely and correctly. I felt fully supported and in good hands throughout the training.

we got humiliated, our followers did more sit-ups than us, need to start a 10 year training arc now, but the teacher Kai has very broad manly boulder shoulders. 10/10 would recommend

Der Kurs war großartig! Die Lehrerin hat jeden Schritt der Figur einfach und verständlich erklärt. Danach haben wir alles zusammengefügt, was zu einer tollen und spaßigen Kombination geführt hat. Ich kann den Kurs jedem mit mittlerem bis fortgeschrittenem Niveau absolut empfehlen. Der perfekte Start ins Wochenende!

Leonor is an amazing teacher. She always creates both a respectful and funny atmosphere so you never feel judged for not getting something and you can fully enjoy the dancing experience. She has a great way of showing steps and accompanies it by explaining the history of salsa. 100% recommended

Ilya und Leonor sind hervorragende Salsalehrer und es hat richtig Spass gemacht, bei ihnen im Kurs zu sein. Beide haben umfangreiches Wissen über Salsa Cubana und können dies super vermitteln. Bei ihnen wird man definitiv gefordert, aber auch optimal unterstützt.

This course is the full package of cuban culture. We did not only dance salsa but also learned some history, bodymovement, musicality... Ilya and Leonor are great teachers who focus on true cuban salsa. It was a great joy to dance in this class.

Most amazing course to deepen the knowledge on the roots of Salsa. You will learn about the structures and patterns of the music, cultural histories and the movement that combines the two things. It cant get any better or any more interesting! Also people are amazing. This course has been my weekly highlight over the past few month.

Had an absolute blast in the Bodymovement training class. Leonor was fun, engaging, and great at leading us through the carnival dance we learned movement by movement. The pace of the class was perfect, with moments of solo exploration balanced well with group coordinated movement and choreography. I wouldn't hestitate to participate again and highly suggest for anyone looking to sink deeper into their bodies to better feel and hear cuban salsa!

Very interesting course. The title "beyond Salsa" captures it well. You get introduced to other Cuban dance forms that you can integrate into your Salsa dancing.

Leonor and Ilya teach an excellent course. The transition from Salsa 2 to Salsa 3 is certainly not an easy one and the learning curve can be steep at times. However, Leonor and Ilya make it a piece of cake. They are always happy and eager to check your style, explain steps, or give tips to improve your musicality. I can't wait for Salsa 4!

The true culmination of Salsa courses. Ilya and Leonor are amazing teachers: They know (and feel) their stuff and they are always fun yet concentrated. The pace is demanding but doable.

Leonor and Ilya were phenomenal teachers, infusing the class with boundless energy. Their clear explanations of body movements and Cuban motion made the figures a breeze to follow. Rueda de Casino was a blast! Can't wait to dance with them again!
