TimeJive is a wonderfully energetic dance. One of its most distinctive features are the lively kicks and flicks that give it such dynamic flair. In this workshop, you’ll sharpen your technique through targeted exercises and learn new step variations to practice and add to your repertoire.
An basic familiarity with kicks is assumed - you will be fine if you know steps like the kick ball change or the mooch.
Kicks and flicks work best when your legs can move freely and without restriction. To make the most of the session (and to avoid snagging or straining anything!), we recommend wearing comfortable, non-restrictive legwear - for example, sports/jogging trousers, (Latin) dance trousers, or Latin skirts no longer than knee-length. If you’re wearing dance shoes and choosing between pairs, keep in mind the comfort and risk of your heel catching in your skirt.
