TimeForget everything you thought you knew about Waltz! Sure, classic Waltz is all about elegant closed holds, smooth glides, and that dreamy rise-and-fall—think grand ballrooms and strict posture. In this workshop we are taking the dreamy feel to a new level!
Exploring open figures in both Viennese and English Waltz will add that extra flair to your Waltz skillset! In this workshop, we’re diving into two open figures that bring a fresh twist to your Waltz: the Butterfly (or Open Waltz) for Viennese Waltz and the Wing for English Waltz. These figures break the traditional closed frame, letting you and your partner create wide-open shapes and dynamic connections.
Perfect for social dancing, these figures will make your Waltz stand out—whether you’re at a ballroom event or just dancing for fun. You’ll learn how to transition smoothly, keep your technique sharp, and add a touch of creativity to your repertoire.
A solid foundation in Waltz (Ballroom 4 level) is recommended. Familiarity with basic Waltz steps and frame will help you make the most of the session, but we’ll adapt to ensure everyone can participate and learn.
