Description

West Coast Swing is a smooth, playful and expressive partner dance that adapts to an incredible variety of music. Its unique combination of connection and freedom makes every dance different, giving you plenty of space to play with the music and make the dance your own.

In Level 1, you’ll discover how to move and connect comfortably with a partner, play with the music and build confidence on the dance floor. We’ll give you strong foundations while encouraging you to explore, adapt and enjoy the dance from the very beginning.

Our goal is simple: by the end of the course block, you feel ready to join a West Coast Swing social and simply enjoy dancing with a partner.

I loved the course! It was very engaging and taught step-by-step, where the pace was somewhat adapted on the fly depending on how the participants mastered the moves. Would recommend! Eric and Carmen make a great combo!

The teachers emphasize movement and connection, so you will immediately start dancing to the music. It's more of an "intuitive" style of teaching west coast swing, where you just feel the music and your partner and move accordingly. There is less emphasis on memorizing footwork, following the beat, and drilling the figures, and more emphasis on improvisation and natural musicality.

Eric and Carmen are the best!! They are such empathetic dancers and teachers, as a first time dancer (of any kind) i expected it to be rather intimidating to jump into a dance course for six weeks but they did a great job of making the space feel safe and accessible and fun. 10/10 recommend and would do again :)

I loved this course. The pace was really nice as I felt able after one lesson to dance already. The teaching style was amazing, we could always ask question and get explanations that really helped.

Excellent course to get to know the basics of WCS. The teachers are fantastic, very informative, peaceful, and passionate, and there's lots of time for practice. I strongly recommend this course for anyone wanting to dip their toes into WCS!

I was a bit unsure about joining since I had not seen myself as a person that can dance. But Carmen and Eric made everyone feel at ease, and helped me change that view of myself very quickly. I highly recommend it, even if you're not sure, even if you're a bit afraid like I was :)

Start dancing with Eric and Carmen. They will make you fall in love with it! They really enjoy what they are doing and this makes it not only fun but you can really make a lot of progress with them.

Great course and very dedicated teachers! WCS takes some time getting used to, but the fun you're going to have on the course later on makes any initial struggles worth it :)

Der Tanzstil ist zu Pop-Musik, das heisst man kann es oft tanzen :) Eric und Carmen sind sehr sympathisch!

Amazing class: Eric and Carmen were able to make starting dancing very easy and intuitive. After already a couple of lessons you feel like you’re starting to own the dance, which I found very nice as a follower. The extra bonus of being allowed to stay for the regular class and choreo also made it possible to learn at an even faster pace and experience the passion the teachers have for this dance. Highly recommended!

This course was very calm and comfortable. The teachers created a comfortable learning environment and were able to adapt their instructions such that almost all participants knew how they could personally improve.

Best course for learning to dance with your partner by working together. Makes a lot of fun! Good for beginners and advanced dancers as you have a lot of flexibility :)
